How Does the CEREC® Milling Machine Work?
While CEREC® is an innovative and complex system, it employs a straightforward process:
- Digital impression: CEREC® includes an advanced intraoral scanning device, which captures detailed impressions for precise restoration design.
- Designing the restoration(s): Using specialized CAD (Computer-Aided Design) software, Dr. Kohani designs the restoration. This step allows for customization and ensures a tailored fit for optimal functionality and aesthetics.
- In-office milling: Once the restoration design is finalized, the CEREC® milling machine transforms high-quality ceramics into precise restorations that fit in seamlessly with the surrounding teeth. The milling process is fast and typically takes only a matter of minutes.
- Placement and bonding: After milling, the restoration is ready for placement. Our dentist places the prosthetic and makes any necessary adjustments to ensure a perfect fit before securely attaching it.
