The Initial Consultation
Your new smile begins with an initial consultation in our La Jolla office. At this appointment, we will discuss your cosmetic goals and the best way for you to achieve them. We will also collect your records and create a 3D model of your mouth using our state-of-the-art CT machine. The goal at your initial appointment is to collect all the information necessary to prepare for your smile makeover at your next – and often only – appointment with us.
See Before Your Treatment
Most of our patients will be able to “see” their results before treatment even begins. We can accomplish this by designing a set of prototypes that will show you what your results will look like after your makeover. Once you have approved your prototypes, we can begin preparing for your makeover appointment.
Treatment Options
There are many paths to achieving a more beautiful smile today:
One-Day Ceramic Crowns – A crown may be recommended if you have a discolored or misshapen tooth. The crown is a permanent device that fits over your natural tooth to provide a more pleasing aesthetic result.
One-Day Porcelain Veneers – Veneers are very thin shells that fit over the fronts of teeth to hide chips, cracks, discolorations or irregular sizes or shapes of teeth. The treatment is usually advised if most of the natural tooth is still present and in relatively good health.

About the Procedures
Crowns and veneers can be completed in a single office visit today, thanks to the CEREC process. This device allows us to make digital impressions of your teeth that eliminate the need for messy impressions. The images are used to create the crown or veneer with precision not seen with other types of processes and in a fraction of the time.
In most cases, patients can have their new crown or veneer created in just a few minutes of time. Once they are completed, they can immediately be bonded to your tooth, with complete results when you walk out of our office on that same day. There is no need for temporaries that often loosen or cause tooth sensitivity while you are waiting for your permanent ceramic or porcelain to be created.
Minor Adjustments Available
Most patients will not require additional appointments once their smile makeover is complete. However, some may choose to schedule a follow-up appointment or two if minor adjustments need to be made to their final results. We are happy to bring you back into our office and make any adjustments necessary to ensure your outcome is completely satisfying.
