Ceramic Crowns

When a tooth breaks or is severely damaged by decay, a ceramic crown is the most effective way to restore its appearance, strength, and function. Dr. Kohani uses CEREC technology to fabricate top-quality crowns that blend naturally with your smile in a single visit. Dental crowns can restore individual teeth, support a bridge to replace one to three missing teeth, or be attached to a dental implant as part of a more comprehensive tooth replacement option.

Periodontal Treatment

Both gingivitis and periodontitis are serious forms of gum disease that need to be treated before they progress. Many individuals experience some degree of gum disease due to the amount of potent oral bacteria that can accumulate on teeth and gums over time. However, periodontal disease can easily be prevented with a proper oral hygiene routine and regular dental check-ups. Root Canal Therapy

When the pulp within a tooth becomes infected, a root canal is required, and the natural tooth needs to be saved. In order to save the tooth, the infected pulp is removed, and the inside of the tooth is cleaned. The pulp is then replaced with gutta-percha, a material with a consistency similar to rubber. A ceramic crown is placed on the tooth to restore its aesthetics and function. Contrary to popular belief, due to discomfort associated with early root canal techniques, this procedure has evolved over decades into a minimally invasive treatment that is as pain-free as possible.

Professional Dental Cleaning

Attend your regular dental checkups every six months for a professional teeth cleaning and examination. At La Jolla Cosmetic Dentistry, we approach all dental cleanings with a holistic mindset and use a gentle air abrasion machine to remove surface stains. During your exam, Dr. Kohani will check to see if tartar and plaque have reached beneath the gum line. If it has, you may require periodontal treatment.

Dental Fillings

Cavities are the most common conditions affecting the teeth, and in order to treat them, composite fillings (known commonly as tooth-colored fillings) are used as a cosmetically appealing way to remove tooth decay and restore your natural tooth. The composite filling matches your natural tooth enamel, which makes it particularly useful when filling cavities in front-facing teeth.
